Come help SDCKA introduce people to paddle sports! We’ll be
assisting individuals into kayaks and get them started. The event runs from
9am-4pm. We could use volunteers throughout the day. 1 hour or the full day, we’d
love to have you help! Please us know if you can help.

Sanford Accessibility Program Kayaking

SDCKA is assisting with the Sanford Accessibility Program as
they take patients out kayaking for the first time! Come on out and help
support or assist us on the water or from the shore.
Saturday, August 17
Yankton Riverboat Days Kayak Run
2pm
SDCKA is proud to support a new kayak race this year during
Riverboat Days. Head down to Yankton and try a good beginner race. 6.5 miles
down the Missouri River is a great way to be introduced to kayak racing.

Downtown Sioux Falls River Fest
7-11pm
Once you’ve completed your race in Yankton, join us downtown
Sioux Falls for a fun evening on the water. Bring your boat anytime during the
evening and paddle up and down the Big Sioux River. Live music, food vendors
and thousands of people will be along the River Greenway. How many
opportunities do you get to decorate your boat with lighting (optional), paddle
at night downtown and watch fireworks from your boat! Come anytime during the
evening. Launch either from the River Greenway Ramp (might be busy) or from
behind Killian College downriver.
Sunday, August 18
River clean-up – Downtown Sioux Falls
1pm
Keep your boat on your vehicle and join us Sunday for a
river clean-up. We’ll meet at the River Greenway Canoe/Kayak Access next to
Cherapa Place and work our way to Fawick Park.
